Bravo, Blackhall Brownies!

RAINBOWS AND BROWNIES RAISE £3600 FOR MISSION CHRISTMAS

Huge well done to the Blackhall Rainbows and Brownies who raised more than £3,600 for Mission Christmas by ‘growing £1’.

This meant each girl was given £1 and had to come up with a fundraising idea to help “grow” it. They then took the money they had fundraised to B&M and spent it on gifts for children living in poverty, which they then donated to Mission Christmas with Cash for Kids.

Thanks to a 10% discount from B&M Edinburgh, the group was able to donate more than £4,500 worth of gifts – which equated to four jam-packed car loads!

Edinburgh Gang Show cancelled

EDINBURGH GANG SHOW 2020

We have made the very difficult decision to cancel the Edinburgh Gang Show 2020, due to be performed at the King’s Theatre in November, because of ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

This will be the first time in 60 years that the Gang Show has not been performed in an Edinburgh theatre, but our priority is the safety of our young people and adult volunteers.

The Gang may not be able to meet in person, but we are planning to present a virtual performance in November which will showcase the talent of our young people from South East Scotland Scouts and Girlguiding Edinburgh and bring the unique Gang Show spirit alive and online.

New Girlguiding units to open in Craigmillar this week

Girlguiding Edinburgh are opening a brand new Brownie and new Guide unit in the Craigmillar area this week.

Girls aged 7-10 are invited to join Brownies and girls aged 10-14 are invited to join Guides. If you’re a girl or you know a girl who likes going on adventures, trying something new and meeting new friends then what are you waiting for?

Come along and take part in all the fun that guiding has to offer!

Time and Location

The new units will open on Thursday (30 January). Brownies and Guides will run between 6-8pm at St Teresa’s in Craigmillar, 120 Niddrie Mains Rd, Edinburgh EH16 4EG. The units will then meet on a weekly basis.
