Dementia Cafe for North Edinburgh Arts?

TWO CONSULTATION SESSIONS NEXT WEEK

NEA

There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been carers, those who are currently carers, those who will be carers and those who will need carers’ – Rosalynn Carter, former US First Lady

West Pilton Gardens Social Worker Centre is looking to open a new Dementia Cafe in North Edinburgh Arts Centre (off Pennywell Road, beside Muirhouse Library).

We are holding two meetings where we want to hear what you want from the Cafe. We would like people with dementia and their families, their carers, ex-carers, friends and neighbours, etc. to come along and participate in the consultation.

This is an opportunity for your voices to be heard and to be part of an exciting new project in your community.

NORTH EDINBURGH COMMUNITY CONFERENCE

Organised by Community Action North and Granton Improvement Society

Community Conference

 WHAT NEXT FOR OUR COMMUNITY?

Challenges and opportunities facing North Edinburgh

North Edinburgh is facing tough times. Services are being cut, jobs are hard to come by and some of our projects are struggling to survive.

But maybe it’s not all doom and gloom. Our community has some great resources, and chief among these is our people: the activists and the volunteers, young and old.

This important conference will discuss what our community needs  –  and work out how, together, we can  get where we want to be.

We believe the people who know best are the people who live here. North Edinburgh needs your ideas – come along and help us to map out a positive future for our community.

Lunch provided

Free crèche available (MUST be booked in advance)

Still time to have your say on antisocial behaviour

Have your say on Edinburgh’s Antisocial Behaviour Strategy
smashed-windscreen5
The latest  Antisocial Behaviour Strategy for Edinburgh is being drafted, and the next phase for this project is to go out to public consultation, so we can gather the opinions of the people of Edinburgh about Antisocial Behaviour and how it affects them. The consultation will run until the 31st December and will be hosted online at:

There is also a print version of the consultation available for anyone who does not wish to respond electronically, available at Neighbourhood Council Offices and Libraries.

The more feedback we get through the Consultation the better, so if you or your organisation can support the Consultation by raising awareness through social media, having paper copies available at public offices, or through any other means it would be much appreciated.
