Cineworld Edinburgh celebrates Danny Boyle with £5 tickets

Cineworld, the UK’s leading cinema chain, is to celebrate the acclaimed British director Danny Boyle from May 7th to May 28th with a limited time big screen re-release of four of the Scottish director’s classic titles.

Tickets go on sale from today for these iconic movies that defined Danny Boyle’s career – a rare chance for fans to experience these classics on the big screen, just as they were meant to be seen, all for the affordable price of £5 per ticket.

Exclusive to Cineworld, the films showing nationwide during Danny Boyle Season will be:

  • May 7: Sunshine – Futuristic sci-fi thriller penned by Alex Garland returns to the big screen starring Cilian Murphy and Chris Evans.
  • May 14: Shallow Grave – Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Boyle’s dark comic debut feature featuring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Eccleston.

Cineworld celebrates Black History Month & 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop with special screenings in October

Cineworld is proud to announce a month-long celebration of Black History Month and the 50th anniversary of hip hop with a curated selection of films this October. The cinema chain will be showcasing 3 iconic titles that have not only defined cinema, but also shaped the global music scene.

Throughout the month, moviegoers can immerse themselves into the vibrant tapestry of African American culture, as well as the revolutionary sounds of hip hop with selected films: “Do The Right Thing,” “Boyz n’ the Hood,” and “Straight Outta Compton,” each of which stand as monumental pillars in the history of both cinema and music.

Do The Right Thing

Spike Lee’s groundbreaking film “Do The Right Thing” will transport audiences to the sweltering streets of Brooklyn on the hottest day of the year. Cineworld, the UK’s leading cinema chain, has announced its first ever ‘Cineworld Day’ to take place this Saturday, February 26th, 2022. 

A grand celebration of the nation’s love of cinema, the inaugural Cineworld Day will take place in all corners of the UK as Cineworld reduces its ticket prices to £3 for all films, all day, in all formats, including IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen, in addition to regular 2D. 

Cinema-goers will have the chance to see all of the latest film releases for only £3, including: Cyrano, The Duke, Death on the Nile, Uncharted, Marry Me, Belfast and Sing 2.

As part of the Cineworld Day celebration, some of 2021’s biggest blockbuster favourites will also be brought back in IMAX, 4DX and ScreenX such as, Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home. 

As part of the Cineworld family, Picturehouse will also offer £3 tickets throughout Cineworld Day;
