Next Monday, 24th August we will be starting Mindful Colouring In at Blackhall Library. These are casual sessions for anyone to join, no need to book, just come along.

Blackhall Library reopens at D Mains Primary School on Monday

We’re delighted to let you know that we’re planning to open the new temporary Blackhall Library at Davidson Main’s Primary School on Monday (8th June).

The opening hours for the library, alongside a programme of planned events and activities, will be available on the Blackhall Library webpage soon.

Due to essential works the library will be closed for one day only on Thursday 25 June. Unfortunately it hasn’t been possible to schedule these works ahead of the library opening, but we’ve been working with contractors to minimise disruption and limit the closure to a single day.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you all into our new space very soon!

Blackhall Library opening delay

We’re busy finalising the set up at our new temporary library building at Davidson’s Mains Primary School, and we’re looking forward to opening and sharing the space with the community.

Unfortunately we’ve experienced some delays with finishing the building works and installing some of the furniture. This means we’ve had to postpone the planned opening of the library by a few weeks.

Blackhall Bookbug’s Back on the Bus!

Bookbug is returning to the bus!

We will be running outdoor sessions on Wednesdays at 11:30am every fortnight that the bus is available, starting from next week, Wednesday 21st May.

As this will be outdoors please be prepared with hats, sunscreen etc, and that it may be cancelled at short notice if it is raining. We look forward to seeing you there ☀

RAAC at Blackall Library: Mobile library in operation from tomorrow

TEMPORARY CLOSURE – MOBILE LIBRARY IN OPERATION

Following the temporary closure of Blackhall Library due to the discovery of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC), we can now confirm that there will be a mobile library vehicle situated in the car park of Davidson Mains Church.

The service will be available from tomorrow – Monday 25 September – to provide customers with the opportunity to collect reservations, return loans and borrow a limited selection of books, apply for bus passes, collect hearing aid batteries, free period products and buy food waste bags.

The mobile library will be available on the following dates:

Monday 25 September from 2.30 to 7pm
Tuesday 26 September from 10.30am to 3pm
Wednesday 27 September from 2.30 to 7pm
Thursday 28 September from 10.30am to 3pm
Friday 29 September from 10.30am to 3pm

Busy week at Blackhall Library

WEDNESDAY IS DINOSAUR DAY!

We have an extra special week coming up at Blackhall Library with our Dinosaur Day on all day Wednesday and our Open Garden Day on Saturday!

For Dino day you can book in for specific activities or just come along, there will be fun Dinosaur themed activities for children running all day!

Our Open Garden Day is being supported by our wonderful Friends of Blackhall Library group – there will be plants, books, light refreshments and other goodies for sale along with activities for children and prizes to be won!

Blackhall Library are having an Open Garden Day on Saturday 29 July from 10am to 1pm.

Pop along and join them for a day in the garden filled with fun activities for children, a book sale, knit and crochet, and there’ll be tea, coffee and cakes for sale too!
