The public toilets in Edinburgh’s Hunter Square have been closed in the latest move to tackle anti-social behaviour. The joint agreement between the City of Edinburgh Council and Police Scotland to close the toilets comes as part of a set of actions being taken forward to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area. Teenager in custody following vandalism spree

Police have arrested an 18-year-old male in connection with a number of offences in the North Edinburgh area. The teenager has been charged with forty-three vandalisms, which include damage to a number of cars overnight in a trail of carnage between 13 and 14 November. Fireworks reminder: avoid putting lives at risk

A senior fire officer has said that lighting fireworks inside buildings is “mindless,” and puts lives at risk. Fortunately no-one was hurt in the Dundee incident, but The Scottish Fire and Rescue service is urging the public to act responsibly this fireworks season. Joyriders: Edinburgh MSPs back community call for tougher deterrents

City MSPs have written to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and the Lord Advocate to push for stronger action against motorcycle crime and associated antisocial behaviour. Holyrood politicians, including local MSPs Ben Macpherson and Alex Cole-Hamilton say that, although action to tackle this behaviour is ongoing, local residents feel more must be done to deter joyriders and make the community safer.
