Bike Security Event at the Royal Commonwealth Pool

Edinburgh Leisure is hosting a free bike security event at the Royal Commonwealth Pool on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April from 9am – 1pm each day.

As part of Edinburgh Leisure’s bike security initiative, The Royal Commonwealth Pool will be undertaking security developments over the next year and are reviewing areas such as CCTV and bike rack locations.

The aim of this event is to promote to customers the benefits of choosing cycling as a healthy mode of transport, the importance of bike security and educating on the different methods that can be taken to ensure that any bike is safe whilst left in public places.

Over the two-day event, there will be a variety of suppliers in the foyer, including;

Police Scotland – who will advise on reporting bike thefts, bike security tips and crime prevention

Spokes – An exhibition on bike history in Edinburgh

Veloeye – A bike registration company who will sticker bikes free of charge and register them to their website to allow tracking

Sustrans – who will be offering advice on cycle routes and courses

Grease Monkey Cycles – who will be holding a pop-up bike workshop offering mini services for £15 – customers should book this onlinehttp://greasemonkeycycles.com/bike-love/

Edinburgh Leisure’s Green Team – who will be raising awareness of Edinburgh Leisure Green initiatives and sustainability
