Radio Forth’s Mission Christmas raises £1.2 million

RADIO FORTH breakfast presenters Boogie and Arlene have announced that an amazing £1.2Million has been raised to help disadvantaged children in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk this Christmas season.

The station – along with Cash for Kids – launched their annual ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign last month, which aims to deliver presents to many of the local children that are living in poverty this December.

Right now, nearly 1 in 3 children across the UK are living in poverty, with Christmas simply being a luxury their families cannot afford. However more than 25,000 children in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk will now wake up to presents on Christmas morning, thanks to kind donations from listeners and locals.

Singer and TV star, Fleur East hosts a show on Forth 1, part of the Hits Radio Network. Speaking about the campaign, she said – “We all deserve a great Christmas and thanks to the generosity of our listeners, we’ll be able to make that more of a reality for families struggling this season.

“It’s been humbling to see the wonderful donations come in, all of which will help put a smile on another child’s face this Christmas Day.”

Local Forth 1 Breakfast presenter Boogie added “The response to our Mission Christmas campaign has been simply amazing, and we send a huge thanks to all of you that have made this small act of kindness that will really help make a difference.”

B&M Bargains and B&M home stores supported the campaign again this year across Edinburgh, The Lothians, Fife and Falkirk with all of their stores hosting drop off points for gifts.
