Can You Help The Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime?

The Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime needs your help!

The Edinburgh Study began in 1998 and over 4000 young people have taken part. The latest phase of research is about to begin and we are looking to contact everyone who has taken part!

If you started secondary school in Edinburgh in 1998 or know somebody else who you think this applies to, please get in touch with us by e-mailing edinstudy.law@ed.ac.uk or give us a call on 0131 650 2627.

You can find out more information by visiting our website at

or you can find us on Facebook and Twitter @edinstudy.

The Edinburgh Study has been running for over 20 years and is one of the most highly respected studies of its kind in the world.  The study has won several Scottish and UK Awards because of the major impact it has had on the lives of young people in Scotland and this is all thanks to those who have taken part.

This new phase of the study will build on the earlier research and aims to find out how people’s experiences in their teenage years have influenced their lives now that they are adults (participants will be aged around 33 years old now).

Please share this as far and wide as you can as many of these participants won’t live in Edinburgh anymore and also may have changed names, etc.

Any help spreading the word is greatly appreciated!
