Local charity teams up with Amazon for trip to the zoo

A Musselburgh-based charity that supports the wellbeing of children and young people with chronic conditions through art therapy enjoyed a trip to Edinburgh Zoo with the team from Amazon Customer Services Centre in Edinburgh.

Teapot Trust attended the Amazon team’s summer party at the Zoo, which included a raffle to raise funds for the charity. The Amazon team, based at the Customer Services Centre in Waverley Gate, Waterloo Place, raised more than £1,000 for the Teapot Trust, which it plans to spend on providing art therapy for children with chronic conditions in hospitals.

The trip was organised by Amazon’s Edinburgh Customer Services Centre and saw staff, friends and families treated to a day of entertainment at the Zoo to celebrate the start of summer.

The Amazon team invited some of the staff, their families and Teapot Trust service users to join the fun which included face painting, a raffle to win top prizes, a tour of the Zoo and lunch for everyone at the Jungle Café.

Stephen Lumsden, Site Leader at Amazon’s Customer Services Centre in Edinburgh, said: “Our summer party is one of the highlights in the calendar at Amazon in Edinburgh, with everyone getting together to have a great time.

“This year, we wanted to make it an extra special event and invited the team from the Teapot Trust to join us. We’re happy to support this brilliant local charity and would like to thank them for coming along to a great day out at the Zoo.”

Caitlin Meagher from Teapot Trust added: “We had a fantastic day with the Amazon team at Edinburgh Zoo and can’t thank them enough for the invite to the event and for the kind donation. I’d like to say a big thank you to Stephen and the Amazon team for their hospitality and generosity.”
