Thursday is Cash for Kids Ladies Day

140 women from across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife are coming together for a day of celebration and fundraising on Thursday.

Organisers of the annual Cash for Kids Ladies Day are confident this year’s event will smash the £12,000 raised at last year’s event.

2019’s Ladies Day takes place at The Principal Hotel in Edinburgh’s George Street, and is set to feature a charity auction, fashion show and live entertainment.

Now a staple of the Edinburgh social calendar, the event is organised each year to raise vital funds, and thank the business leaders and inspiring women who’ve dug dep and done their bit to help young people across the region, disadvantaged through poverty of disability.

The main sponsor for this year’s Ladies Day event is Soprano Ice and The Facial Spa. Owner and clinic director, Debbie Stewart, said:  “I have always supported Cash for Kids personally and greatly admire the amazing work that they do.

“The fact that they fundraise across the year is important to me and I have seen first-hand the differences they have made to the lives of children across Edinburgh. As a mother, this means a great deal to me and I’m delighted to be able to increase my support this year through my own businesses”.

Victoria Hendry, Charity Manager at Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids, added: “When we first came up with the idea of Ladies Day, it was really just about bringing together women from across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, to celebrate the amazing work they’ve done helping such an important cause.

“But, the event itself has now become a crucial fundraising driver for the charity. It’s amazing to see so money kind hearted ladies putting on their best frocks, having some fun, and doing their bit to support the vast range of individual and group causes we support. We’re quietly confident we’ll beat last year’s total raised of £12,000, and we’re absolutely it’ll be a really fun, inspiring evening for everyone who attends!”
