From Save to Sustain: Health Project campaign moves on

This week, we will be moving on from our Save PCHP campaign after more than 3 months of intensive and wonderfully rewarding fundraising, and it’s ending on a high!

We are delighted to announce that, at the time of writing, our online fundraiser has achieved a magnificent £29,697.10! Together with offline donations and other income during this period, we have smashed our original target of £50k.

This money will ensure our doors are open for at least the next year – something we didn’t think was possible when we started this campaign after the devastating public sector funding cut we sustained at end of 2018.

Not only will our doors remain open, but we are able to continue our vital services in the Greater Pilton area, working alongside the local community in the areas of food, family and focused support.

Of course, these funding cuts have come at a heavy cost. We have lost many valued services, wonderful staff members and volunteers; so we move forward with diminished capacity, but with renewed optimism having received this wonderful heartfelt support from so many people.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated to our campaign, however large or small – it has been inspiring and affirming to see how our past and present users, partners and wider public who value our work have been rallying together to support us.

We will be hosting a special ‘thank you’ event at PCHP open to all, where you can visit the project and see what we are doing. Stay tuned for more info on this event.

Particular thanks goes to our fearless individual fundraisers – Mhairi (above), Lisa (below) and Cara; who have respectively run a marathon, undertaken a cycling challenge, and completed a skydive to raise money for us! Congratulations, your time and generosity is much appreciated. They all reached dizzying heights with their sponsorship totals. Thank you also to everyone who donated to these brilliant women and helped them, and us, to achieve our goals.

Special thanks also to everyone who partnered with us to help achieve our fundraising targets – particularly Martin Wishart and Tom Kitchin, all our extremely generous corporate sponsors, and everyone who promoted our campaign on social media, spread the word, joined in at events and otherwise supported our cause.

Our fundraising won’t stop but the emphasis will change.  The loss of a major source of public sector funding will not only affect PCHP this year, it will also impact on our sustainability in the future.

With this in mind the focus of our fundraising campaign will be to sustain PCHP services in the long-term – #SustainPCHP.   We will continue to run fundraising events and seek to secure other sources of funding – your generosity has made this possible.
