GMB urges council to stand up for Edinburgh

The GMB’s Scotland Organiser Keir Greenaway has written to Edinburgh council leader Councillor Adam McVey urging him to ‘stand up for Edinburgh’.

Councillors will agree the city’s budget this morning and it’s likely that the city’s SNP – Labour ‘Capital Coalition’ will vote through swingeing cuts of more than £40 million to vital public services.

The letter reads:

Will the SNP – Labour ‘Capital Coalition’ say enough is enough, challenge austerity and stand up for Edinburgh’s most vulnerable citizens?

We’ll find out later today.
