Build your sustainablity skills with Leith Collective

IN collaboration with Ocean Terminal, Leith Collective has prepared a wide range of FREE weekend workshops and initiatives for anyone interested in re-using, recycling, upcycling or learning new creative skills in 2019.

January’s workshops include clothes mending, lampshade upcycling and crocheting using salvaged wool. In addition, a chance to refresh your wardrobe for 2019 comes with Clothes Swap at the Image Gallery Collective Space, again in Ocean Terminal on Saturday 19th January.

Every Thursday in January, from 11am – 6pm drop in to the Leith Collective shop in Ocean Terminal for some Origami bird making.

Sara Thomson, co-founder of Leith Collective, said: “The origami birds are Cranes and symbolise luck and ‘a new start’ which is exactly what we are aiming to do in terms of sustainability and teaching people how they can get involved themselves.

“We want to make the workshops accessible to everybody and we’re offering them free of charge. In addition, people will leave the workshops with new skills e.g. clothes mending which will not only save them money over the months and years to come but also help with sustainability.”
