Hundreds of teacher posts in Lothian re-advertised in last three years

Research by the Scottish Conservatives has shown that almost 500 jobs in Lothian have been re-advertised over the last three years and almost 3,000 across Scotland.

SNP Ministers claim Education to be one of their top priorities, but this failure to properly plan their workforce suggests otherwise.

In recent weeks, there has been public outcry and anger within the profession about the SNP’s handling of education generally.

Miles Briggs, Scottish Conservative Lothian MSP, said: “It is crucial for pupils to have continuity in their teaching so as to best fulfil their potential.

“These figures show that pupils in Lothian are not getting this continuity of education with a revolving door of teachers.

“SNP Ministers are not giving teachers the support  that they need to do their jobs, which is leading to this exodus.
