Police Scotland supports 16 Days of action against gender based violence campaign

Police Scotland supports White Ribbon day and International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

“Police Scotland is absolutely committed to the White Ribbon pledge in terms of doing all that we can to eradicate violence against women and girls in Scotland, and it’s great to be working with White Ribbon, which is an organisation of men who are also absolutely committed to ending violence against women.

“We know that gender based violence is often under-reported and throughout the 16 Days of Action we’ll be working with a variety of partners at events right across the country to raise awareness, but also to encourage anyone who feels they’ve been a victim or knows of a victim of gender based violence to come forward and to report that to the Police or partners and we will take action and do all that we can to both support those who’ve been affected and to tackle the perpetrators of that violence.

“There’s no place for violence against women in Scotland in 2018, and by working together, by listening and reporting activity that we think is abusive and by supporting those affected we can all play our part in tackling violence against women and eradicating in from Scotland. Thank you.”
