Refurbished Edinburgh pub opened by Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity

The Robin’s Nest has honoured the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity after the pub reopened following an extensive remodel. The pub and its staff are planning a host of fundraising events and activities in the upcoming months, aiming to raise money and awareness in support of the charity.

The Edinburgh Pub & Grill celebrated its reopening on the 16 November by inviting representatives from the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity to officially reopen the new look pub, making them guests of honour at a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.

Located on Gilmerton Road, the refreshed Robin’s Nest resumed serving guests after an extensive two-week refurbishment. Following a significant investment five new jobs have been created.

Speaking about reopening the Robin’s Nest, Amy Ford, Corporate Fundraiser at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We’re thrilled to have been given the honour of officially reopening the Robin’s Nest and so thankful for the support that they have pledged to the charity.

“We can’t wait to start working with the Robin’s Nest team to help raise funds and awareness for ECHC. They have some great local events in the pipeline to raise support in the local community, which will enable us to continue transforming the lives of children and young people in hospital so they can be children first and patients second.”

Commenting on the pub’s new look, general manager, Christopher McCarthy, said: “We’re so pleased at how brilliant the Robin’s Nest looks following the refurbishment, and we were thrilled to have Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity here to cut the ceremonial ribbon for us.

“ECHC work hard to transform the experience of children in hospital, providing an extensive arts programme for children and young people as well as funding for important training and equipment. The charity ensures that children don’t miss out on being children whilst they are in hospital and we’re excited to continue our support of their vital work.

“Bringing the new look Sizzling Bar and Grill to Edinburgh is really exciting for the whole team. At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good food and good value for all our guests, and we’re thrilled to be providing the area with a new dining destination that does that in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

“The pub looks fantastic following its refurbishment. We can’t wait to welcome back our regulars and the people of the Edinburgh to see what the new look Robin’s Nest is all about.”

Following the refurbishment, the Robin’s Nest will continue to look to support the local community with a calendar of fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
