Holyrood’s Committee Conveners are to quiz the First Minister on her Programme for Government again this week.
In what is now a bi-annual session, the First Minister will face questions scrutinising the entire Government portfolio. From education and health to Brexit and social security, Committee Conveners will scrutinise the First Minister’s priorities for the next parliamentary year.
Speaking as the session was announced, Chair of the Conveners Group, Christine Grahame MSP, said: “While Committees regularly question Government Ministers, this is a chance to hear from the First Minister directly on the recently announced Programme for Government.
“This session is not about grandstanding or political theatre. It is a chance for Conveners to undertake detailed scrutiny and get to the heart of the Government’s plans for the coming year – something our Committees do best.
“I know there will be a range of fascinating questions as Conveners Group quizzes the First Minister and I look forward to the robust debate.”
The session is open to the public, and tickets can be booked via the Parliament’s Visitor Services. The session will also be streamed live on both Facebook and Parliament TV. To watch live, select Committee Room 2 on Parliament TV.
It will take place between 12:30 and 2pm, on Wednesday 24 October in Committee Room 2, and will be chaired by Deputy Presiding Officer Christine Grahame MSP.
The last session took place on 18 April 2018.
