Farmhouse Inns dig deep for Cash for Kids

Farmhouse Inns has pledged to provide a raft of support to help children across Scotland disadvantaged through poverty or disability.

The company which operates restaurants in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen, has signed up to do its bit to help leading charity Cash for Kids.

The charity’s unique structure enables it to operate locally with partner radio stations, including Radio Clyde, Radio Forth, Northsound Radio, and Radio Tay, with donations and funds raised locally going to local community groups or children with additional support needs, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

From this month onwards, diners will be able to donate unused clothes at Cash for Kids recycling bins located outside the restaurants. There will also be donation tins located throughout the restaurants and a series of fundraising initiatives including the sale of special Cash for Kids fairy cakes in October, with the full £1 price going straight to the charity.

Farmhouse Inns currently operates 6 restaurants throughout Scotland and has witnessed rapid growth in recent years.

Les Greenhalgh, Area Designate Manager at Farmhouse Inns, said: “Our restaurants are proving to be increasingly popular with customers of all ages and we wanted to do something to say thank you and give back to the community.

“Cash for Kids is the perfect fit. The charity operates locally in partnership with radio stations in each of the cities where we have restaurants, so it made a lot of sense, knowing that the money raised by our local customers would stay local and make a real difference to the lives of young people.”

Emma Kemp, East of Scotland Regional Charity Manager at Cash for Kids, added: “It’s been an amazing year for both Cash for Kids and Farmhouse Inns so I’m delighted that such a successful business has volunteered to do its bit to help us out.

“In 2017, we raised more than £5.8 million throughout Scotland and we were able to help more young people than ever before, but demand for our assistance is also constantly growing and it’s a massive boost to receive help for leading businesses and individuals.”
