National award for Lingotot

Lingotot Edinburgh are celebrating after it was revealed that their Lingotot had won at the National Mum and Working Awards 2018. These prestigious awards are intended to reward innovation, raise standards and support family-friendly flexible working nationally.

Lingotot was Highly commended for the Best Use of Technology or Innovation within a Family-Friendly Business Award as well as being named as finalists in two further categories; Franchisor / Licensor of the Year and Best International Flexible Business.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Lingotot founder, Angela Sterling, was named Business Parent of the Year.

Angela said: “I started the business when my first daughter was 7 weeks old and I franchised when my second was born. Operating a franchise with two babies under two, a husband who worked away from home and no help with childcare was a challenge and a half! I know what it’s like to start a business with a young family and I love helping my franchisees navigate the choppy waters of finding that elusive work-life balance. I think we do a great job and I’m delighted that has been recognized by Mum and Working.”

Mum and Working said “Judges declared this has been the hardest year EVER such was the calibre of our nominees!”

Lingotot is a multi-award winning languages programme which is delivered through community groups, nursery settings, and school classes – both as curriculum time teaching and after school clubs. Their engaging format aims to introduce preschool and primary aged children to languages, while instilling confidence and developing a love of languages.

Giselle Dominguez, of Lingotot Edinburgh (pictured) says “I am absolutely delighted that Lingotot has performed so well in an outstanding four categories and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for the business! I really love what I do and it’s a fantastic feeling to have Lingotot’s hard work recognized.”
