Over the course of this year, Citizen Curator has been investigating the history of gala days, with a focus on the heritage of the Leith Gala. The research, oral history and photographs gathered as part of the project have now been brought together for an exhibition at the People’s Story Museum, Edinburgh.
The full exhibition is on at the People’s Story Museum from Friday 15 December 2017 until Sunday 11 March 2018. Opening times: Wed-Sat, 10am – 5pm and Sundays, 12pm – 5pm.
Join us for an exhibition launch at the City Art Centre on Friday 15 December 2017, 2.00 – 4.00pm, where we will be screening archive footage of the Leith Pageant plus a new oral history film produced with materials collected during the Queens for a Day project.
Both the exhibition and the launch event are free and open to all.
Best Wishes,
Duncan and Ria
