One Spa Edinburgh introduces Cancer Touch Therapy

One Spa, part of the 5* Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, has launched a Cancer Touch Therapy treatment in partnership with Made for Life Organics for those currently living with and recovering from cancer.

In tranquil surroundings, the nurturing and calming ‘Hand on Heart’ treatment for the head, face, back and shoulders will allow guests to drift away into a meditative state of relaxation. The therapy involves a sequence of slow, rhythmic Tui Na Chinese massage techniques to soothe and calm the upper body, whilst the facial replenishes, nourishes and revives the complexion.

Using Made for Life Organics products which are hand-made using herbs, flowers and oils without any synthetic chemicals or parabens, the therapy is a safe and effective way of giving guests a remarkably comforting experience allowing an opportunity to truly relax.

Working with registered charity, Made for Life Foundation, whose intensive training programme is accredited by the Complementary Medical Association, One Spa’s therapists are fully qualified to carry out the holistic treatment to the highest standard in the beautiful and light-filled setting of the spa.

Jo Syme, Spa Manager at One Spa said“We are so pleased to be able to offer a safe and accessible treatment for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. The therapy offers a much needed respite from everyday life and a welcome addition to our offering at One Spa.”

Amanda Barlow, MD of Made for Organics and Founder of the Made for Life Foundation said: “I believe that all spas should open their doors and embrace the opportunity to provide support to people going through cancer.

“We are all absolutely delighted that One Spa became the first Spa in Edinburgh to be trained to do just this. Feedback from guests who have been unable to have spa treatments in the past and the therapists who are now able to welcome them in has been absolutely heart-warming.”

The ‘Hand on Heart’ treatment, available from 1st October 2017, is priced at £107 per person and lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes.
