Circle receives cash boost from Morrisons Foundation

Local charity Circle has received a £950 donation to develop the outdoor area at their West Pilton base, where high school volunteers team up with primary school children to provide mentoring and support. The donation, awarded by the Morrisons Foundation, will be used to renovate the garden area and purchase equipment, picnic benches and raised beds.

Circle’s Claire Martin said: “This funding means we can create a therapeutic space where high school students can help younger children develop their learning and social skills.”

Martin Connelly from the Morrisons store in Granton presented the cheque to Circle. He said: “We are pleased that the Morrisons Foundation has awarded this donation to Circle, a local charity which helps children and young people in our area.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which improve people’s lives. Charities are encouraged to visit www.morrisonsfoundation.com to find out how to apply for funding.
