Cancer information at Drumbrae Library Hub

A Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service (CISS) is available in Drumbrae Library Hub on Thursdays (midday to 2.30pm) and Saturdays (11am to 1pm).

The service commenced in September 2016 in Central Library and Craigmillar Libraries and a fourth service point is planned to open at Leith Library on Wednesday 28th June.

The Macmillan CISS is a free service providing information, support and signposting for people affected by cancer in Edinburgh. Each service point is open for a few hours per week, and is staffed by fully trained volunteers. These volunteers, as well as offering a cup of tea and a listening ear, can guide a service user offering Macmillan information booklets and publications. At each service point, there is a directory of information and support that may be helpful for people affected by cancer. The volunteer will listen to the service user and potentially advise on sources of support.
