Bank branch closures: another two bite the dust

Bank of Scotland branches in Goldenacre and Stockbridge are to close

Two more local bank branches are to close this autumn. The Bank of Scotland branch on Montague Terrace in Goldenacre  will close on 16 October, while the Deanhaugh Street Stockbridge branch will close it’s doors for the last time on 3 November.

The Bank of Scotland cites the changing way customers are banking as the reason for the latest closures.

In a statement to customers, Bank of Scotland said: “As a result of the way customers are choosing to use our branches, sometimes it is necessary to close, relocate or even open new branches. We offer a number of different ways to bank with us and even with these closures, 90% of Bank of Scotland customers will still have a usable branch within 5 miles of their home.”

One of those branches within the radius would have been St Andrew Square in the city centre – but it’s closing too, on 31 October  …
