Portobello Beach Wheelchairs is a local community group which believes that everyone has the right to enjoy our beautiful beach. We are currently gathering public opinion and raising awareness of beach wheelchairs with the aim of raising funds to buy, store and maintain beach wheelchairs to be used by visitors to Portobello Beach.
We will be hosting an event on Saturday 3rd September at the foot of Bath Street (just by the Beach House cafe) from 2-4pm which will give people a chance to talk to representatives of the group and also have a look at some example beach wheelchairs in action, loaned for the day from the North Berwich Beach Wheelchairs project.

We have invited wheelchair users to come along and try out the wheelchairs and hope to generate public interest, and respondees to a survey about the project.
