Ferryhill back to school after yesterday’s disruption
Ferryhill staff and pupils return to school as normal today after yesterday’s evacuation.
A spokesperson said last night: “Thanks to all our staff for following our emergency procedures carefully to make sure our evacuation from the school was smooth and calm today.
Thanks to all of our children who evacuated calmly with a positive attitude and excellent behaviour throughout. Very pleased with, and proud of them all. We don’t take chances with children’s safety and hopefully everyone understands there was no time to collect belongings and coats today. We’re all pleased to be back to school tomorrow.”
Yesterday’s precautionary evacuation, which saw all children and staff move down the road to Drylaw Parish Church, was caused by an electrical fault.
