‘FORCE FOR GOOD’ COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP INITIATIVE
Police Mutual have been inviting officers around the country to apply for funds from their new ‘Force for Good’ initiative, designed to help community projects in our local area.
These could include providing plants and tools for a community garden, equipment for a Scout or Guides group or kit for a children’s sports team. Anything, in fact, that’s close to our hearts in our communities.
With nearly 1,400 initiatives put forward for consideration for funding from Police Mutual, we’re delighted to say they will be awarding Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre £300!
This particular initiative was nominated by the local ward officer, PC Grimwood. Drylaw/Telford Community Association has lost an awful lot of funding this year and were recently on the brink of closing. They run many projects for their local community. They also run a night for the older generation in the local area, however there have been uncertainties around whether or not they can afford this going forward. Funding here would give them more opportunity to continue with the good work they’ve already been doing for their local residents.
This is first class partnership work and will no doubt provide timely assistance to the Centre and the community it serves, as well as demonstrate the support our funded team are providing in many areas.
