Sean’s stepping out for STV Children’s Appeal
STV’s popular weather man Sean Batty is to pull on his walking boots for a major fundraising challenge in aid of the STV Children’s Appeal – and is asking people in Edinburgh to join in.
As part of his challenge, Sean, who is a long time supporter and fundraising hero for the STV Children’s Appeal, will walk in the Kiltwalk event in Edinburgh on 18 September to raise money forchildren and young people affected by poverty in Scotland.
The day before the event, Saturday 17 September, Sean will set out to meet with people in the local community as they host their own fundraising activities in aid of the Appeal. Whether it’s a coffee morning, a bake sale, a sport event, a talent show or a pub quiz, Sean would love to pop in for a visit. Fundraisers are also welcome to meet Sean along the Kiltwalk route to present their donation.

Sean said: “Kiltwalk is set to be a brilliant event and a great way to support the STV Children’s Appeal, a cause that’s very close to my heart. I’m really looking forward to the challenge, but I must admit I’m dreading the midges!
“As always, I am looking to get local communities involved with my challenge and I’d love to meet as many fundraisers as possible the day before the event – or along the way. If you’re in the Edinburgh area, I hope you will join in the fun by organising your own fundraising event, and help me raise more than ever before for Scotland’s children.”
