Community gets together to recognise youth achievements
The North Edinburgh community celebrated the achievements of our local young people at a gala event at North Edinburgh Arts on Thursday evening. The North Edinburgh Youth Awards were organised and presented by North Edinburgh Young People’s Forum and the evening was a great success.
North Edinburgh Young People’s Forum received an huge volume of nominations, particularly in the Under-Twelves categories, and selecting winners was an incredibly difficult task for the judges.

As you can see there were loads of categories but, unlike some other award ceremonies I could mention, acceptance speeches were thankfully very short (many were non-existent!) so the event went like clockwork. There were great tunes during the interval too from local musician Ross Arthur.
The idea for an awards ceremony was first raised at last autumn’s Youth Talk event and, with the enthusiastic support of Forth Neighbourhood Partnership, the dream became a reality. It’s hoped the Youth Awards can now become an annual event.
