Musselburgh Racecourse announces Vogue Williams as celebrity DJ for Stobo Castle Ladies Day

Scotland’s biggest and most prestigious 5-star Ladies Day – Musselburgh Racecourse Stobo Castle Ladies Day is back on Friday 5th August.

The organisers are delighted to announce that Vogue Williams will headline the exciting after-racing party. The TV presenter, model and DJ will entertain the crowds by taking to the decks to keep the party going, following the last race at the East Lothian track on Friday 5 August 2022, an annual sell-out event, famed for its atmosphere.

The annual sell out event will see a new Style competition launch, thrilling horse racing and first-class entertainment. This year’s glamorous summer racing event will celebrate the changing styles of Ladies Day past and present, a theme that will be part of the entertainment throughout the day.

The Style Awards will be the new fashion competition for this year and the judges, including leading Scottish stylist Eva Arrighi, will be looking for style, elegance, and individuality. This year’s event will also welcome back the Best Hat Awards too.

Ladies Day at Musselburgh Racecourse is always alight with an electric party atmosphere like no other. Accompanying Vogue Williams, former Miss Scotland, Jennifer Reoch, will host this year’s Stobo Castle Ladies Day on the main stage.

Musselburgh Racecourse partners with Harvey Nichols and Bonnie & Wild for Stobo Castle Ladies Day

Musselburgh Racecourse has partnered with the beauty team at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh and upmarket Food Hall Bonnie & Wild to offer a unique raceday package for Stobo Castle Ladies Day on Friday 5 August.

As part of the luxury package, the beauty experts from Harvey Nichols will be offering appointments from 8:30am until 11:30am and encouraging customers to indulge as they get raceday ready with a full-face makeover.

Additional fragrance consultations, skincare treatments and hand and arm massages will also be available on the day. Prestigious beauty brands including Armani Beauty, Estée Lauder, Dior, Fenty Beauty, Hourglass, Laura Mercier, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Pixi Beauty, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent will be present and on hand to pamper guests at the event.

The beauty appointments will be followed by a delicious brunch from Bonnie & Wild, which will include a tailor-made mocktail on arrival and a selection of delectable dishes from the sophisticated Food Hall, and finished off with a glass of Prosecco to raise a toast to Ladies Day.

Musselburgh Racecourse and S.Luca partnership offers discount to local community

Two renowned East Lothian businesses are working together to offer more people in the local community who are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis an opportunity to enjoy a fun day out.

Musselburgh Racecourse is partnering with S.Luca to offer racegoers a discounted meal when they purchase a concession ticket at the racecourse over the next three months. 

Anyone who purchases a concession ticket will be able to present this at the Musselburgh branch of S. Luca to get a 10% off their meal. S. Luca is also offering a free ice cream for all kids who attend the races over this Jubilee weekend.

Concession tickets will be reduced to £15 over both days of the Jubilee weekend, saving £15 on Saturday and £10.00 on Sunday. This discount will continue over the next three months except for Ladies Day in August. All Saturday 4th June concession racegoers will receive a complimentary concession ticket to Sunday 5th June.

Musselburgh Racecourse rolls out royal connections for Platinum Jubilee Weekend

PORT SETON’S PADDY FLIES THE ROYAL STANDARD IN CORGI DERBY!

Musselburgh Racecourse is preparing for its Platinum Jubilee Weekend on 4th and 5th of June with the announcement of two special guests who have interesting royal connections. 

The East Lothian track is hosting a prestigious weekend of Scottish summer racing that includes a jam-packed schedule of racing across both days and family fun and a street party extravaganza on the Sunday. 

A distant relative of one of Her Majesty The Queen’s own corgis named Paddy from Port Seaton (below), will take part in a special corgi race ‘The Corgi Derby’ on the Sunday and there will also be an exclusive performance by Louise Marshall, Scotland’s national piper who was the lone piper to Her Majesty The Queen at the naming ceremony of the Queen Elizabeth Ocean Liner in 2010. 

Musselburgh Racecourse already has a proud Royal heritage. The Queen’s Stand was opened by Princess Anne and visited by Her Majesty The Queen in 2016, and general manager Bill Farnsworth is delighted to be able to honour the Monarch’s 70-year reign across this special weekend.

Spectators will also be able to indulge in delicious street food and enjoy live music from The Funkwagen DJ. 

The Skybet Sunday Series Raceday, featuring the Queen of Scots Fillies Stakes and the Jubilee Family Fair, follows on 5th June

As well as the Corgi Derby and performance from piper Louise Marshall, there will be a real family feel and party atmosphere on the day, with the event suited to all ages and visitors encouraged to bring along a picnic and join in the street-party extravaganza for a day packed full of family activities.

There will be Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen, a best dressed prince and princess competition with some prizes up for grabs, as well as vintage fairground rides and face painting.

The Musselburgh race card is packed with possibilities for spectators as the track prepares to host a top-class trio of summer races this year.

Join in the excitement with Edinburgh Gin Raceday (21 May), celebrate The Queen’s magnificent Platinum Jubilee weekend (4-5 June) or get glammed up to the nines for Scotland’s most prestigious five-star Ladies Day (5 August).

The exhilarating Sensational 7, Summer programme begins with the return of The Edinburgh Gin Raceday featuring The Edinburgh Cup.

In addition to high-quality racing, there will be plenty of opportunities to party and enjoy some great food and drink: catch live music from local bands on the courtyard stage; sip botanical-inspired cocktails from the Edinburgh Gin Tipple Trailer and savour dishes from some of Scotland’s finest street food vendors.

Musselburgh Racecourse welcomes the return of spectators to The Betway Easter Saturday

Musselburgh Racecourse will open its gates and welcome back spectators to its spectacular Easter Saturday Raceday for the first time since 2019.

The Betway Easter Saturday featuring The Queen’s Cup is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar and its return has been widely anticipated by racing enthusiasts and those in search of a great day out over the holiday weekend.

With incredible first-class racing and entertainment, the East Lothian track will host around 6,000 racing fans who will be able to enjoy an afternoon of top-quality racing, delicious street food stalls and various food and drink options throughout.

Easter Saturday, featuring the prestigious £100,000 Queen’s Cup, received the royal seal of approval from Her Majesty The Queen herself, and will be the feature race of the day.  Musselburgh is also delighted to welcome back the team from ITV who will be covering four races live on ITV4 Racing.
