Open Golf Champion

American golfer Bobby Jones (1902 – 1971) holding the trophy after winning the 1927 Open Golf Championship at St Andrews. Jones won the British Open three times (1926, 1927, 1930) and the US Open four times (1923, 1926, 1929, 1930). The Royal and Ancient golf club at St Andrews was founded in 1754 and recognised as the Governing Authority on the rules of the game in 1897.
