Now in its fourth decade, the British Hairdressing Awards hosted by Hairdressers Journal International has been supported since its inception by Schwarzkopf Professional.

To be a finalist is quite something; it takes a standout salon, a phenomenal creative talent and commitment to reach these final stages.  The top hairdressers for 2019 have now been named and Simon Hill, owner of SESH Hairdressing in Leith, is just one of just six finalists for Scottish Hairdresser of the Year.

The overall winner for this hotly contested category will be announced at the prestigious ceremony on the 25th November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London’s prestigious Park Lane.

This iconic competition requires hairdressing professionals from across the country to create a photographic collection, initially of four images that showcase their creativity and technical ability.  These collections are displayed in a gallery for judging by more than 50 of the industry’s greatest hairdressers, all of whom are experts in their field.

Bernard Street-based SESH Hairdressing are renowned for their phenomenal hairdressing skills and beautiful salon and to now also be recognised for their creative talent and ability to create s stunning and cohesive collection is a wonderful feeling.

Simon Hill said: “To be announced as a finalist for Scottish Hairdresser of the Year is such an amazing and indescribable feeling. I put my heart and soul into creating the collection and it is a real honour that this has been recognised and we have been selected as one of just six finalists!”
