Here is a poster promoting some of the classes at Craigroyston which are due to start from Monday 24th September. We are keen to have a few more people enrol if at all possible and wondered if you might be able to help at all with word of mouth, advertising or sharing with your network.
A typical 2 hour class for 10 weeks costs £60 standard fee or £30 for a senior citizen/ student and £15 for anyone receiving benefits (including working family tax credits).
We have one fabulous new course to help avoid stress and bring some fun back into life:
Music Medicine will give participants the chance to explore how we can use music to create harmony in our lives.
There are 4 elements to music: Rhythm – for the body; Melody – for the heart; Harmony – for the soul; and Silence – for the mind. During this course we will explore these elements and work together to create our own music.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
None – all welcome. This is a class for anyone who would like to find out more about the power of music.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN:
By the end of the course students will have:
– learned a variety of songs;
– had the opportunity to try out a variety of musical instruments;
– gained confidence in making music in a fun, safe space;
– increased awareness of all elements of music and how it can build and strengthen communities; and
– hopefully made some new friends.
HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT:
A variety of methods will be used including: Ice breakers and warm ups; Call and response singing; Breathing/ voice exercises; and Using percussion instruments.
Music Medicine is every Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm
Thank you in anticipation and please encourage people to get in touch with myself or Jacqui (she is in every morning from 9-12 noon) for any more information
All best and hope to see you soon
