A forever home for Freddie

A Forever Home For Freddie

Animal welfare experts are determined to find a suitable home for Freddie the friendly Collie who has spent more than 600 days in the care of  Dogs Trust West Calder in Livingston.

Staff at the Rehoming Centre have launched a rehoming appeal to find a suitable home for this boy which they hope will result in locating a new owner and long sought after rural home for the six-year-old Border Collie. Freddie has been a resident at Dogs Trust since 2016 and is hoping this appeal will be his chance to find his special someone and a forever home.

Freddie is a happy and energetic boy who loves being outdoors and going on nice walks in the country. He likes spending time in the garden, playing with his soft cuddly toys and having a game of fetch. He is a friendly chap who has become best friends with many of the volunteers and staff. The Rehoming Centre has more than 70 volunteers who all adore caring for and walking Freddie; and Freddie absolutely loves being taken on several relaxing walks a day.

Staff at Dogs Trust West Calder are doing a big push on social media to find Freddie the home he deserves and will be posting content all about him, using the hashtag #ForeverHomeForFreddie. They hope that by sharing more information about Freddie’s interests and daily activities, this will give the public a chance to get to know Freddie better and hopefully attract his perfect match to the Rehoming Centre.

Freddie, like many collies, has strong natural instincts to  herd things.  It would be best to channel these into his favourite toys and games; and Freddie has been learning some basic agility, which he loves. He is also on the lookout for understanding owners who know and love the Collie breed.

Freddie is looking for an adult only home and a home where he can be the only pet.
