The Clydesdale Bank branch in Davidson’s Mains will close it’s doors for the last time on 19 June.
In a letter to customers, Local Area Manager Michael Laidler explained: “It’s important that we are where our customers want and need us most. we’ve noticed a decline in the numbers of people visiting us in branch, and a big increase in customers accessing our services online and over the phone.
“That’s why it makes sense for us to invest in these areas, to make everyday banking easy and convenient.”
Enclosed with the letter is the inevitable leaflet extolling the benefits of 24 hour banking.
When Davidson’s Mains closes the nearest Clydesdale branch will be in George Street.
The Clydesdale announcement is the latest in a steady stream of local branch closures over recent years and follows the closures of Bank of Scotland at Inverleith and RBS branches at Davidson’s Mains and Goldenacre.
