Persistence pays off for Forth 1 winner

The persistence of Scott Christie in Edinburgh has paid off as he scooped the top prize on the £2k Minute on Forth 1. The 36 year old from Willowbrae had frequently tried to get through to win the £2,000 prize and was finally successful on Tuesday 24th October.

The Forth 1 £2K Minute sees one listener asked 10 questions live on Boogie in the Morning each weekday – if they can answer them all correctly inside 60 seconds then they win £2,000 cash.

Scott explained: “I listen every day on my way to work and usually do fairly well so I wanted to give it a try although I never thought I would actually win!”

Scott was confident he had answered the first nine questions correctly when the final question asked in which century the Jenners department store in Edinburgh opened.

He said: “I went with the 19th century but wasn’t sure it was the right answer so I was over the moon when Boogie told me I had won the money.”

Scott’s wife Sarah has also made sure she played her part by helping to decide how to spend the £2,000.

“My wife was delighted and has already mentioned a wood burning stove that she thought would be great for our house. However, it is our 10th wedding anniversary next summer so it might be nice to use the money towards a special holiday to celebrate.”

Speaking about the win, presenter Boogie, said: “It is always fantastic to get a winner and we are all delighted for Scott. It is always tough to answer all ten questions under the pressure of being live on air but Scott kept his cool and is a worthy winner.”
