Conveners of the Scottish Parliament’s 15 committees are to question the First Minister on her Programme for Government. The session, which will take place on 25th October, is open to members of the public.
With Committees collectively scrutinising the entire Government portfolio, the First Minister will face questions on a wide range of topics, including education, health, Brexit and more. It was also announced that the session will become a bi-annual event with a further session scheduled for March 2018.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Chair of the Conveners Group, Deputy Presiding Officer, Christine Grahame MSP, said: “This session is all about sustained and detailed scrutiny and that is what our committees do best. Conveners will question the First Minister on everything from health and education to the environment, social security and of course Brexit.
“There will be no shortage of questions and, given the range of important issues to be covered, I think we can expect some interesting exchanges.”
The session, which will take place on Wednesday 25 October, will be Chaired by Deputy Presiding Officer and Chair of Conveners Group, Christine Grahame MSP. It will take place between 12:30 and 2pm, on Wednesday 25 October.
