Hundreds of P6 children from all over Scotland took over the Scottish Parliament’s Debating Chamber on Monday for Euroquiz 2017.
Thirty one schools represented their local authority areas in the Euroquiz final. Sciennes Primary School (below) represented Edinburgh but it was Falkirk’s Comely Park Primary School who came out on top and took home the trophy.
Euroquiz, which takes place every year, sees teams of pupils working together to broaden their knowledge of European history, geography, sport, culture, languages and the European Union.
Deputy Presiding Officer and Euroquiz quizmaster Christine Grahame MSP said: “I’d like to congratulate the winning school, Comely Park Primary School, and all of the schools that took part.
“Euroquiz is a brilliant way for young people to learn more about Europe and Scotland’s place in the world.
“And, with European elections and Brexit being debated at breakfast tables in many households across Scotland, it was an exciting and topical quiz for the hundreds of young people who studied hard for the finals at Holyrood today.”
