SCDC lunchtime session, 8th October 2019

As part of Challenge Poverty week 2019, Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) is holding a lunchtime seminar exploring the role of community development in solving poverty.

Challenge Poverty week 2019 is running from the 7th – 13th October. One of its aims is to increase public support for the actions that solve poverty, such as boosting people’s incomes and reducing the cost of living.

This lunchtime session at SCDC will look at how community development approaches can put power in the hands of those experiencing poverty to influence the change that is needed.

We are keen to hear how you are using, or would like to use, community development approaches to address poverty and inequality.

The session will be free and take place at SCDC on Tuesday 8th October from 12:15 until 1:45 with a light lunch provided. It will be relevant to those who are active in the general area of community development and poverty.
