Edinburgh-based improvisation art collective, I.M.P ( in_my_presence) will hold a durational performance event (eh? – Ed.) at Cramond Beach on Saturday.
This is a response to a brief created by the Global Water Dance project, a project that brings together dozens of events around the world to advocate the importance of water in human life.
I.M.P uses movement, sound, image and sculpture to communicate and document experiences of time and duration in live action. In Cramond Beach we will focus on the relationship between site and event to understand how an important centre for iron industry evolved to a tourist attraction. We will explore historical and geological changes to comprehend the shift from labour to leisure, from watermills to walks.
The event is a promenade performance across the beach between 12 and 3 pm, where participants and performers might merge to a single group. What could happen in Cramond Beach through following I.M.P’s method of inhabiting the space?
