Warm welcome awaits Norhet’s charity walkers

There will be a warm welcome – and a cold pint or two – awaiting a hardy team of walkers when they get back to the Norhet Bar in Davidsons Mains late this afternoon.

Scott Bowie, Andy Muir, Keith Cannon, John Muir, John Morris, Patrick McLure, Danny Judge and Rab Devlin tackled the gruelling 97 mile West Highland Way to raise funds for a special outdoor play equipment for Muirhouse Millennium Centre in commemoration of Bradley Welsh, who was a much-appreciated supporter of the Centre’s children’s groups.

The lads set off last Saturday to tackle Scotland’s most popular long distance walk and over the course of the week they’ve been challenged by arduous terrain, some awful weather … and worst of all, Scotland’s savage midgies!

It’s been well worth it, though – the Norhet boys have raised over £2000 and Brads Community Play Den will be delivered on Monday, in good time for the summer clubs and playscheme.

Well done, guys: you’ve certainly earned that cold beer!

Bradley Welsh’s funeral service was held yesterday – fittingly, it was the day the Norhet team completed their marathon walk.
