Organisers were delighted with the Voice Your Choice participatory budgeting event which was held at Edinburgh College Granton Campus yesterday.
There were 145 votes overall, with £10,000 to give out to projects.
The successfully funded projects are:
Rural Skills and Training Scheme (RUTS) – Urban Box mini boxing academy aimed at young people.
Pilton Youth and Childrens Project – Dare to Succeed – a project teaching leadership skills
L.I.F.T with their My Time, My Mind project, aimed at changing young people’s perception of benefits and employment.
Amina – I Am, I Can project. A series of three interactive workshops to employer ethnic minority women with skills and confidence.
One Parent Families Scotland – Preparing for the Future Course for single parents in NE Edinburgh.
And SmartWorks received partial funding, winning £1155, just over half of their total requested amount for their networking project SmartNetwork.
