DOG RESCUE APPEAL FOR TEMPORARY FOSTER CARER FOR MOTHER AND LITTER

Dogs Trust resident who recently gave birth in need of temporary home with litter

Staff at Dogs Trust West Calder are appealing to find an urgent temporary foster home for Delphine, a two-year-old Collie cross and her seven new born puppies.

Delphine arrived at Dogs Trust’s Bentyhead Rehoming Centre through no fault of her own and has recently given birth. The team are now searching for a temporary foster carer to look after the pack of precious pooches until the pups are old enough to be adopted.

Kim McNeill, Assistant Manager for Dogs Trust West Calder said: “Potential foster carers should be prepared to give round the clock care and be willing to provide lots of TLC  to the puppies. They should also be available to care for them until the puppies are eight weeks old, when they will be ready for new homes.

“Foster carers should be prepared to spend time nurturing the puppies and giving them the care and attention they need. Delphine and her puppies are looking for a foster home which is at most a 30 minute drive from the Rehoming Centre. The perfect home would ideally have no other pets, with someone who can be around most of the day.”

Having the puppies reared in a loving family home will give them the best start to life and allow Delphine to look after them happily and comfortably.

If you think you could offer Delphine and her puppies a foster home or you are interested in adopting one of the puppies please get in touch with the team at Dogs Trust West Calder on 0300 303 0292 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk/our-centres/west-calder
