The Scottish SPCA is inviting local animal lovers to join their Edinburgh Supporter Group. Scotland’s animal welfare charity is hosting a recruitment evening for fundraising volunteers at the Virgin Money Lounge on St Andrew Square in Edinburgh on Tuesday 10 April at 6pm.
Come along to find out more about how the charity’s life-saving work makes a real difference to animals in Scotland.
Centre Manager Diane Aitchison said, “Joining one of our supporter groups is a wonderful way to meet new people, take on a new challenge and also give back to the community.
“Our Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre cared for almost 1,000 animals last year, which is fantastic but clearly shows how busy we can be.
“We’d really love to hear from anyone who would like to lend a hand and help save the lives of abused, abandoned and injured animals.
“Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people or for adding experience to your CV. It’s a fun way of being able to give back to the community and helps us to continue rescuing abused and abandoned animals.
“Whether you can give an hour here or there, or can volunteer on a more regular basis, we’d love to hear from you!”
Diane added, “We don’t receive any government or lottery funding which means we rely on the public to be able to continue our vital work rescuing and rehoming animals in desperate need of our help.”
Those interested in attending the meeting are being asked to call fundraising on 03000 999 999 (option 4) or email fundraising@scottishspca.org.
