CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) has announcedTthat its Edinburgh Pub of the Year is The Dreadnought. The pub, which was only opened in its current guise in 2016, takes over from the Stockbridge Tap, which had won the award for the last four years.
The Edinburgh and South East Scotland Branch of CAMRA, whose members voted the Dreadnought in at No 1, will be presenting a certificate tomorrow (Monday 19th March) at 8pm at the pub in North Fort Street.
Toby Saltinstall, the Dreadnought’s licensee, said: “This is fantastic for us to win CAMRA Pub of the Year after only 17 months in existence”. He went on to promise a good party night for the presentation. The pub sells a rotating selection of four cask ales, often including beers from local breweries like Hybrid and Cross Borders.
The runner-up in the competition was the Stockbridge Tap, with another new pub, Monty’s (Morrison St), in third place.
