Edinburgh Leisure venues will stay closed today (Friday) due to the adverse weather conditions. It’s hoped that venues will reopen on Saturday.
An Edinburgh Leisure spokesperson said: “Following on from our earlier update, which we communicated on our social media channels and the Edinburgh Leisure website, we have taken the decision for our venues to remain closed tomorrow.
“Whilst the Met Office Red Warning has now expired, the Amber Warning is still in force across eastern and central parts of Scotland until 10am tomorrow. There is still uncertainty over what public transport will be operating and when, and the advice from Police Scotland and other agencies is that people should not travel unless it is essential. As before, the safety of our customers and staff is paramount.
“We will be advising customers of our continued closure through our social media channels and the Edinburgh Leisure website.
“We hope to be back to normal operating hours on Saturday, 3 March 2018; and a decision will be taken on Friday. In the meantime, we would ask everyone to keep their eyes on the various social media channels and the Edinburgh Leisure website for updates. We thank everyone for their patience on this.”
