Black Friday’s gone … get set for #givingtuesday

#GIVINGTUESDAY Tuesday 28 November

#givingtuesday is a global day of action aimed at getting people thinking about others ahead of the Christmas period.

An antidote to the pre-Christmas sales, it takes place on the first Tuesday after Black Friday and encourages people to do good stuff for others. That could be donating money to charity, volunteering in your community, or something as simple as offering to help a friend or neighbour.

More than 1800 charities, organisations and individuals will take part in #givingtuesday across the UK, including:

  • Morrisons, House of Fraser and The Co-Op who will be running in-store promotions
  • BT who will be lighting up their tower in London with the #givingtuesday logo
  • The Entertainer will be playing a promotional video, putting posters in store windows and running an internal campaign on payroll giving.
  • Radley has teamed up with Dogs Trust to launch a stylish and highly functional dog walking backpack and matching coin purses, which will launch on #givingtuesday. 15% of each sale will go directly to Dogs Trust
  • Camelot – lottery winners will be building ‘gingerbread play houses’ for Zoe’s Place Children’s Hospice in Middlesbrough

A full list of partners, including regional breakdowns, is available on the website at: givingtuesday.org.uk
