And all because …

Cadbury launches ‘Milk Tray-ning’ with Mark Wright as first pupil

The Milk Tray Man, Patrick McBride, is back and is marking the launch of ‘Milk Tray-ning’ – a programme through which he will teach Britons the art of thoughtful gifting as new research reveals a ‘thoughtfulness gap’ between old and young.

The study highlights a clear contrast in expectations and modern day definitions of thoughtfulness between generations. The majority (52 per cent) of 18-25 years olds think that a positive comment or ‘liking’ a loved one’s social media post constitutes a thoughtful gesture, whereas 25 – 40 year olds prefer to receive a well-wishing traditional phone call (54 per cent). Almost half of women (47 per cent) also claim to be disappointed by a text message on a special occasion rather than a physical gift and the older generation, 55+, is most spontaneous when it comes to thoughtful gifting, with 85 per cent claiming that they gift others ‘just because’ they want to and don’t wait for special occasions to do so.

To combat the thoughtfulness gap, Cadbury Milk Tray is introducing ‘Milk Tray-ning’ to help all generations understand the fundamentals of thoughtful gifting and avoid hurt feelings or missed opportunities.

Marking the launch, the Milk Tray Man has taken International presenter and Radio DJ Mark Wright on as his first trainee. Proving there is a Milk Tray Man in all of us Mark Wright is put through his paces by the iconic, black polo neck wearing hero who imparts his knowledge and suave demeanour on his apprentice. Taught the true ‘Way of the Tray’, Mark successfully masters the art of thoughtfulness and learns how to go the extra mile to deliver the perfect box of chocolates to that special someone in his life.

Now, just like Mark, people across the country can learn about thoughtful, modern day gifting and be in with the chance of having the caring, daring, thoughtful hero and Master of the Tray – the Milk Tray Man – join them on their own thoughtful mission.

Steve Rich, Marketing Manager at Mondelez International said “We’re really excited to be launching ‘Milk Tray-ning’ and giving ours fans the chance to learn the way of the tray from the master himself! As if this wasn’t enough, giving people the opportunity to have the Milk Tray Man join them on their mission we hope will drive excitement and thoughtful gifting across the nation.”
