HENDRICK’S GIN INVITES YOU TO MAKE HARMONIOUS MUSIC WITH CUCUMBERS
Hendrick’s Perilous Laboratory for the Absorbment of Natural Teachings (P.L.A.N.T) is conducting a genuine and most unusual scientific experiment during the Edinburgh Festival at the Assembly George Square Gardens, Edinburgh, 3rd – 13th August.
Hendrick’s Gin requires human volunteers to take part in a genuine and most unusual scientific experiment in an attempt to make harmonious music through cucumber collaboration and cocktail consumption.
Step forward those with a strong head for science and a penchant for Hendrick’s, come visit the Perilous Laboratory for the Absorbent of Natural Teachings (P.L.A.N.T.) at Assembly George Square Gardens, Edinburgh, 3rd – 13th August during the hours of 12:00 – 23:00, entry is free with no ticket required.
At the Hendrick’s Perilous Laboratory (P.L.A.N.T.), scientists have investigated how to invigorate human connection with the natural world through a series of experiments. The noble cucumber is one of the most mysterious yet delectable infusions in Hendrick’s Gin and through science, P.LA.N.T. aims to unearth the green fruit’s wondrous secrets. Are they sentient beings? What knowledge can humanoids garner from these wise vessels?
Individuals who attend P.L.A.N.T. will be greeted by Hendrick’s Laboratorians, who will lead the experiment to make music through collaborating with a set of cucumbers which are rigged up a piece of software that when triggered creates a different sound and style. The sounds are programmed and designed in such a way that when all played together – a verdant and cacophonic composition worthy only of the ears of the curious is created. If successful in making a peculiar composition, folk will be rewarded with a Hendrick’s and Tonic.
Ally Martin, Hendrick’s Gin Ambassador, comments, “This is the latest experimentation in a long line of scientific studies that our curious minds have undertaken to learn more about our humble cucumber friend.
“Hendrick’s Gin is infused with cucumber and rose, and peculiarly garnished with the cylindrical being, therefore we’re always looking to advance the understanding of our most sacred fruit. This time we’re using the arts as a medium to develop and garner a deeper connection between them and humans.”
Following the Edinburgh Festival, Hendrick’s P.L.A.N.T scientists will navigate the country, conducting a series of unusual experiments with the noble aim of exchanging wisdom with the natural world. Look out for further details and rare cucumber revelations at https://uk.hendricksgin.com/plant/.
