The Scottish SPCA is saying thank-you to volunteer, Marilyn Cole, who has been giving up her time to help Scotland’s abused, abandoned and injured animals for six years.
Marilyn has been volunteering at the Edinburgh Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre where she has created quite a bond with many of the staff and animals through the years.
Centre Manager Diane Aitchison said, “Without the amazing help of our volunteers we couldn’t do what we do.
“Over the years Marilyn has helped the centre out by cleaning the kennels, cat units and the small animal room and is also amazing at keeping on top of all the laundry at the centre! She’s always very positive and helpful so we look forward to seeing her cheery face every week.”
Diane continued: “As an animal welfare charity we receive no government or lottery funding so we rely entirely on the support of the public.
“Many of our volunteers see volunteering as a great way of meeting new people or for adding experience to their CV. It’s a fun way of being able to give back to the community and helps us to continue rescuing animals. Without this help we would not be able to continue our vital work rescuing and rehoming abandoned and unwanted animals in Scotland.”
